My work is integrative, blending modern counselling and psychotherapy with body-based approaches to support lasting, meaningful change. Rather than only talking things through, we also work with the body and nervous system, allowing us to access and process what sits beneath the surface of thoughts and behaviours.Many of the patterns we experience in life — whether it's anxiety, feeling stuck, relationship challenges, or a sense of disconnection — aren't just cognitive. They're often shaped by past experiences, stored emotions, and unconscious beliefs held within the body.Through a combination of psychotherapy, somatic experiencing, breathwork, parts work, and gentle inquiry, we begin to explore these deeper layers. From this new level of awareness, we can use somatic release modalities to process, integrate, and shift what's no longer serving you, while building a stronger sense of clarity, resilience, and self-awareness.This is about creating the space to understand yourself more fully, reconnect with your body, and move towards a way of living that feels more aligned, grounded, and authentic.Sessions are tailored to you — your pace, your intentions, and what you're needing in the moment. Some sessions may be more conversational, others more experiential.I meet you where you're at.
In person and Online Sessions
My sessions offer a space to slow down, talk things through, and explore what’s really going on beneath the surface.We’ll work together using an integrative approach, blending conversation with body-based awareness to get to the root of what you’re experiencing. This can include elements of somatic work, parts work, and gentle inquiry, helping you make sense of patterns, emotions, and behaviors in a way that feels clear and supportive.Rather than just staying in the mind, we also bring in the body. At times this may include simple practices like breathwork, grounding, or meditation, alongside more modern therapeutic approaches, psychotherapy, and nervous system awareness.
Sessions are tailored to your pace, your intentions, and what you’re needing on the day.
These sessions can support you in:
Gaining clarity around challenges or life direction
Understanding and shifting recurring patterns
Processing emotions in a safe and grounded way
Feeling more connected, calm, and present in yourself
The focus is on helping you feel more clear, grounded, and aligned while building the awareness and tools to navigate life in a way that feels more like you.

In Person:
In Person Sessions are held either at my space in East Fremantle, or at my private studio in Swanbourne.
Online:
Online session are held over Zoom, allowing you to access support from the comfort of your own home, while travelling, or if you're not based locally.

Somatic Release Session
This session is designed to move beyond the thinking mind and into the deeper layers of the body where many of our experiences are stored. Using a blend of somatic experiencing, biodynamic breathwork, and trauma release techniques, we begin to gently explore the past experiences, tension, and emotions that haven’t yet been fully processed within the body and are unconsciously shaping our thoughts, behaviours, and patterns.Rather than analysing or trying to “figure it out,” we work with the body’s natural intelligence, allowing space for sensations, emotions, and insights to arise and be integrated, in a way that feels safe and supportive.These sessions are intentionally held over 2 hours, allowing space to arrive and settle at the beginning, and plenty of time at the end to unpack and integrate the experience.
These sessions can support;
Releasing stored stress and tension from the nervous system
Processing unresolved emotional experiences
Gaining clarity around recurring patterns or behaviours
Feeling more grounded, connected, and present in your body
Each session is guided at your pace, creating a space where you can safely explore, process, and release suppressed and stuck emotions.Sessions are held in my private studio in Swanbourne, with the ocean closeby.Many people find it supportive to go for a dip afterwards as a way to ground and integrate the experience.
Workshops and Free Community Classes
These gatherings are a chance to slow down, connect, and explore simple practices that support a more spacious, calm, and grounded way of living.They’re open to anyone and often include a mix of yoga, meditation, tea ceremonies, emotional integration breathwork groups, and an opportunity for genuine connection with others in a relaxed, welcoming environment.Whether you’re completely new or have experience with these practices, you’re welcome to come along, meet like-minded people, and take some time for yourself.To stay in the loop, you can join the mailing list or reach out to Brendan to be added to the community WhatsApp group.

About Brendan

Brendan is an integrative counsellor and somatic therapist who draws on over a decade of experience supporting people to better understand their unconscious patterns, integrate suppressed emotions, and cultivate greater calm, clarity, presence, and ease in their lives. He has a love for traditional yogic philosophy, zen practices, and Cha Dao (the way of tea), and blends these teachings into his therapeutic approach.His work blends modern psychotherapy techniques with body-based therapies, trauma release modalities, and daily zen practices, creating an approach that works with both the mind and the body. Brendan has dedicated his life to understanding the root of human behaviour and how to alleviate suffering associated with anxiety, depression, burnout, stress, PTSD, and other mental health challenges.He is completing a Master of Counselling and working towards Clinical Psychotherapy registration, has a background in behavioural science, and is trained in breathwork, trauma release, and somatic therapy. He continues to evolve his practice through ongoing training in contemporary psychotherapy approaches.Brendan has a natural way of guiding people back to themselves through curiosity, compassion, and a deep understanding of the human experience.
